Described as a “healthy, gluten-free alternative” to the beef gyro, the new soy-free Meatless Gyro is made with pea protein, brown rice, coconut oil, Halal Guys spice mix, beets, mushrooms, and paprika.

More specifically, the Meatless Gyro Platter features meatless gyro (made with 14 grams of pea protein per serving), rice, lettuce, and tomatoes along with your choice of toppings and a side of new tzatziki sauce made with aquafaba.

The Meatless Gyro Sandwich features warm pita bread filled with meatless gyro (made with 14 grams of pea protein per serving), lettuce, tomatoes, your choice of toppings and a side of new tzatziki sauce made with aquafaba.

If you’re wondering what aquafaba is, it’s the liquid leftover after cooking chickpeas.

Speaking of chickpeas, Halal Guys are also introducing new vegan Eggplant Hummus, which is made with a blend of chickpeas and eggplant, mixed with tahini sauce, olive oil, lemon juice, and spices.

Eggplant Hummus is available on its own as a side dish — along with Pita Chips — on a platter or sandwich, or as a catering order. It’s also the first of four new hummus flavors the Halal Guys plan to introduce this year. At the end of 2021, fans will get to decide which of the four will be added to the menu permanently.

The Halal Guys would also like you to know that white sauce and hot sauce are not vegan.
